How to setup a Paid HotSpot
BlueDot Wifi provides our HotSpot Management Suite for managing both Paid and Free HotSpots.
Features and Services Available for Paid HotSpot Operators:
- You're in Control: Control your HotSpot entirely through our website. No technical knowledge is required.
- Specify pricing, bandwidth caps and other limits for your customers entirely online.
- Change the name of your HotSpot (aka 'SSID') without reconfiguring or replacing your equipment.
- Disable customers if necessary or simply wait for their accounts to expire.
- Automatically push all HotSpot visitors to your website after they successfully login.
- Customer Management: No need to collect information from your customers before they connect, our Management Suite will handle everything for you.
- Brand Recognition of Your Business: Brand your HotSpot to your business by naming it after your business and uploading your logo for display on the login pages. For example: "Mel's Coffee - Free Wifi"
- Reports: Fully-featured management and reporting functionality.
- Billing: We can provide billing services so you don't have to setup another merchant account to accept credit-cards through your HotSpot.
- Direct Billing: We'll collect payment from your customers as they sign-up for service and send you payment for them on a monthly basis.
- Prepaid Tickets: You can generate tickets and print them through our website. Use these if you would like to sell access to your network through your existing Point-of-Sale system and give the cards to your customers.
- Advertising: We can provide you with posters, signs, window-clings, etc... to help promote this service for your business.
Service Package for Free HotSpot Operators:
We provide all of our features in one single service package for Paid HotSpots. There is no out-of-pocket cost for you (the HotSpot Operator) to setup a Paid HotSpot, we simply keep a percentage of the payments from your customers who sign-up for access through your HotSpot.

The Payout Percentage shown here is the percentage of revenue you'll receive from customers who sign-up for access through your HotSpot. BlueDot keeps the first 25% of the net payments received from your customers; the remaining 75% is paid to you on a monthly basis via EFT or PayPal.
Requirements to Setup a Paid HotSpot:
- High-Speed/Broadband Internet access at the location where you will have the HotSpot. We recommend DSL or Cable, but Satellite and others should work fine too.
- A compatible Wifi Gateway/Router. We recommend purchasing a Hotspot-in-a-Box from our website for the simplest way to get up and running. As an alternative, if you're comfortable with advanced reconfiguration of a router you can use your own equipment and we'll simply provide you with the information you'll need to configure it to use our service.
How do I get started with a Paid HotSpot?
- Create an Operator Account using the link on our website
- Purchase a HotSpot-in-a-Box Kit from us OR configure your own router if you prefer
- Connect your HotSpot-in-a-Box to your Internet connection
- Advertise your service so customers sign-on and buy your service
- We'll collect payment from your customers
- We'll send payment to you on a monthly basis for revenue generated by your customers
